Dr. Sharolyn Arrington DNP, FNP-C
Sharolyn Vincent Arrington, DNP, FNP-C, is a seasoned healthcare provider, educator, and advocate for health equity, with over 31 years of experience in acute, critical, and primary care. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nursing from Southern University School of Nursing and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University. A lifelong Baton Rouge resident, Dr. Arrington is dedicated to reducing healthcare disparities and ensuring equitable, culturally competent care for underserved populations.
Her clinical expertise includes Medical-Surgical nursing, Cardiac Intensive Care, and Trauma Intensive Care. During her extensive tenure at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, she managed complex, life-threatening conditions with compassion and precision. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she has also provided comprehensive care, chronic disease management, and patient education for seven years in the private sector.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Arrington spent 14 years as an adjunct faculty member at Southern University School of Nursing, mentoring undergraduate nursing students and bridging academic theory with practical experience.
Dr. Arrington views her work as a calling, striving to serve the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. She is the founder of a community healthcare initiative in South Louisiana, focused on addressing disparities and empowering patients through education and resources.
As a passionate speaker, she addresses healthcare disparities and community-based solutions to inspire meaningful change. Outside of her career, Dr. Arrington is a devoted wife, mother of two sons, and grandmother of four, drawing inspiration from her family and community.

Mrs. Fortner is a Certified Medical Assistant with over 30 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in medical-surgical care in both private and public settings. She holds her CMA credential and current BLS certification, reflecting her commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
Passionate about serving underserved populations, Mrs. Fortner delivers compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with the mission of First Health and Wellness Family Clinic. She excels in managing acute and chronic conditions, assisting with pre- and post-operative care, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality care.
Her skills include vital sign monitoring, wound care, patient intake, documentation, and education. Known for her ability to connect with patients, she ensures they feel heard and respected throughout their care.
